Gaining as much beneficial knowledge as I can in this dunya about this beautiful deen of Islam. Not just being careful from whom I take knowledge from, but careful of implementing knowledge that comes to me without proofs, so if you have some naseehah, apply proofs InshaAllaah, other than that....I'm a good listener. I crochet and I try to stay in the home as much as possible. Our blessings are in the home sisters (smiles), I have to remind myself of this as well. May Allaah reward us all in our efforts to please Him, Aameen.

I do not watch TV/Movies or listen to music but don't mind sharing my views on them.

"It is not allowed to take pictures of beings that have souls, a rule the compasses cameras and other instruments, with the exception of pictures that are necessary, such as a passport or identity photo."

- from fatawa islamiyah...and as far as music, from the same trusted source;

"It is not allowed to listen to singing and playing musical instruments, since it diverts the listener from the remembrance of Allaah and from prayer, and because hearing it sickens and hardens the heart. Both the Clear Book of Allaah and the Trustworthy Sunnah His Messenger (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) prove its prohibition. Allaah Almighty says in Surah Luqman ayah 6:

"And of Mankind is he who purchases (Lawd Al-Hadith) idle talk to mislead from the Path of Allaah without knowledge."

The majority of scholars of Tafsir as well as others have explained that Lawd Al- Hadith refers to singing and musical instruments. In his Sahih, Al- Bukhari recorded that the Prophet (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) said: "There will be from my Nation a people who will deem fornication, silk (for men), alcohol, and music to be permissible". [Al-Bukhari no. 5590] We ask Allaah to guide and facilitate all of the Muslims to what is right and to protect us from the causes which anger Him." Aameen.

-Proof taken from Fatawa Islamiyah- Ibn Baz

[My Words].."Some may still argue the fact of "naats" or "nasheeds" to be acceptable, or why can't they be if they speak of nothing but good of the religion, which sounds good but we have to worship Allaah as He has legislated for us to, not to add on or take away even if the adding on appears to be an elevation of worship which is actually an innovation and for every innovation is a going astray and the end result of going astray leads to the hellfire, so just because something sounds good to do regarding the deen doesn't mean that it is good without proving it to be a way that Allaah has legislated for us to worship Him, with AUTHENTIC proofs (Quran and Sunnah) and all of that being borderline and finding loopholes(you think you found) only leaves doubt in your heart and doubt comes from the shaitan who is the greatest enemy to mankind and he sits and waits at every point of our lives for the opportunity to lead us astray. HE IS YOUR ENEMY! Don't help your enemy defeat you by following him! So please be careful of what you do here in this life while passing through to our final abode because in the end all the songs you know, sport stats, movie titles and producers and nonsense; any of these worldly waste of times are not going to save you from the fire because at that time, you are only left with your deeds. So be VERY careful what you do here InshaAllaah.None of us are an exception to falling into these things, May Allaah protect us from falling into these things or anything that displeases Him And May Allaah place and/or keep us on a path that will lead us to Jennah, Aameen."

Allaah, The Exalted, states:

"And I (Allaah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)." (Noble Quran 51:56)

All of that being said, I plan on worshipping Allaah Alone and learning this Deen for the rest of my time passing through this dunya and my advice to you is to help and strive with me InshaAllaah.

May Allaah bless us all with beneficial knowledge, Aameen.

Random Looks

Aisha (RadiAllaahu anha) said: I asked the Messenger of Allaah (SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) about random looks in salat (prayer), and he replied, “It is something which satan snatches from the slave’s salat.”
[Al-Bukhari]

What you should say instead

Aisha (RadiAllaahu anha) said: The Prophet (SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said, “None of you should say: ‘My soul has become evil.’ He should say: ‘My soul is in bad shape.’”

..Which act in Islam is the best?..

Abdullaah bin Amr bin Al-As (RadiAllaahu anhu) reported: A man asked the Messenger of Allah (SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallaam), “Which act in Islam is the best?” He (SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) replied, “To feed (the poor and the needy) and to greet those whom you know and those you do not know.”

The world is accursed.....

Abu Hurairah (RadiAllaahu anhumma) reported: Messenger of Allaah (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) said: "Verily! The world is accursed and what it contains is accursed, except remembrance of Allaah and those who associate themselves with Allaah; and a learned man, and a learned person."

....as long as you pray to Me.....

Anas (RadiAllaahu anhu) reported: Messenger of Allaah (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) said, "Allaah, the Exalted, has said: 'O son of Adam, I forgive you as long as you pray to Me and hope for forgiveness, whatever sins you have committed. O son of Adam, I do not care if your sins reach the height of the heaven, then you ask for my forgiveness, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, if you come to Me with an earth load of sins, and meet Me associating nothing to Me, I would match it with an earth load of forgiveness."
[At-Tirmidhi- Hasan]
"But if he intends to do an evil act........"

Abdullah bin Abbas (RadiAllaahu anhu) reported: Messenger of Allaah (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) said;
that Allaah(Subhaana wa ta ala) has ordered that the good and the bad deeds be written down. Then he explained it clearly how (to write): He who intends to do a good deed but he does not do it, then Allaah records it for him as a full good deed, but he who carries out his intention, then Allaah (Subhaana wa ta ala) writes it down for him as from ten to seven hundred folds, and even more. But if he intends to do an evil act and has not done it, then Allaah writes it down with Him as a full good deed, but if he intends it and has done it, Allaah writes it down as one bad deed."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
"What has happened to you,...."

Usamah bin Zaid (RadiAllaahu anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allaah (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) said,
" A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and will be cast into Hell, and his intestines will pour forth and he will go round them as a donkey goes round a millstone. The inmates of Hell will gather round him and say, "What has happened to you, O so-and-so? Were you not enjoining us to do good and forbidding us to do evil? He replied:
' I was enjoining you to do good, but was not doing it myself; and I was forbidding you to do evil, but not doing it myself."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
Two Statements

Abu Hurairah (RadiAllaahu anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allaah (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) said,
"There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful:
'Subhaan Allaahi wa bihamdihi, Subhaan Allaahil- Azim' [Glory be to Allaah and His is the praise, (and) Allaah, the Greatest is free from imperfection]."

Do not express........

Wathilah bin Al-Asqa (RadiAllaahu anhu), said:
The Messenger of Allaah (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) said, " Do not express pleasure at the misfortune of a (Muslim) brother lest Allaah should bestow mercy upon him and make you suffer from a misfortune."

[At-Tirmidhi]
If you depend on Allaah with due reliance....

Umar (RadiAllaahu anhu) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) saying:
"If you all depend on Allaah with due reliance, He would certainly give you provision as He gives it to birds who go forth hungry in the morning and return with full belly at dusk."

[At- Tirmidhi- Hasan]
Gain Knowledge for the Pleasure of Allaah!

Abu Hurairah (RadiAllaahu anhu) said The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu alaihe wa sallam) said, " A person who acquires (religious) knowledge, which is (normally) acquired to gain the pleasure of Allaah, (for the sole reason) to secure worldly comforts will not even smell the fragrance of Jannah on the Day of Resurrection (i.e., will not enter Jannah)."
 [Abu Dawud]
Sneezing vs. Yawning

Abu Hurairah (RadiAllaahu anhu) reported: The Prophet (Salallahu alaihe wa sallam) said, "Allaah likes sneezing and dislikes yawning. When any one of you sneezes and says 'Al-hamdu lillaah (praise be to Allaah)', it becomes obligatory upon every Muslim who hears him to respond with 'Yarhamuk-Allaah (may Allaah have mercy on you)'. Yawning is from the shaitan (devil). When one of you feels like yawning, he should restrain it as much as possible, for the devil laughs when one of you yawns."

[Al-Bukhari]
In Prostration

Abu Hurairah (Radi Allaahu anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allaah (salallahu alaihe wa sallam) said, " A slave becomes nearest to his Rubb when he is in prostration. So increase supplications in prostrations."

[Muslim]

Anas bin Malik (RadiAllaahu anhu), said the Messenger of Allaah (sallaahu alaihe wa sallam) said, " Do not desert (stop talking to ) one another, do not nurse hatred towards one another, do not be jealous of one another, and become as fellow brothers and slaves of Allaah. It is not lawful for a Muslim to stop talking to his brother (Muslim) for more than three days." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Abu Hurairah (radiallahu anhu) said: The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu alaihe wa sallam) said, “Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales. Do not look for other’s faults. Do not spy one another, and do not practice najsh (means to offer a high price for something in order to allure another customer who is interested in the thing). Do not be jealous of one another and do not nurse enmity against one another. Do not sever ties with one another. Become slaves of Allaah, and be brothers to one another as He commanded. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He should never oppress him nor humiliate him. The piety is here! The piety is here!” While saying so he pointed towards his chest. “It is enough evil for a Muslim to look down upon his Muslim brother. All things of a Muslim are inviolable for his brother in faith: his blood, his wealth and his honor. Verily, Allaah does not look to your bodies nor to your faces but He looks to your hearts and your deeds.”
Another narration is: “Do not feel envy against one another; do not nurse enmity; do not spy on one another and do not cheat one another. Be Allaah’s slaves, brethren to one another.” [Muslim]

Abu Dharr and Mu'adh bin Jabal (RadiAllaahu anhu) reported that Messenger of Allaah (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) said, " Fear Allaah wherever you are, do good deeds after doing bad ones, the former will wipe out the latter, and behave decently towards people." [At- Tirmidhi -- Hasan]

Anas (RadiAllaahu Anhu) reported: Messenger of Allaah (Salallahu alaihe wa sallam) said, " Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or is oppressed." A man inquired: "O Messenger of Allaah! I help him when he is oppressed, but how can I help him when he is an oppressor?" He (Salallahu alaihe wa sallam) said, "You can keep him from committing oppression. That will be your help to him." [Al-Bukhari]
