Gaining as much beneficial knowledge as I can in this dunya about this beautiful deen of Islam. Not just being careful from whom I take knowledge from, but careful of implementing knowledge that comes to me without proofs, so if you have some naseehah, apply proofs InshaAllaah, other than that....I'm a good listener. I crochet and I try to stay in the home as much as possible. Our blessings are in the home sisters (smiles), I have to remind myself of this as well. May Allaah reward us all in our efforts to please Him, Aameen.

I do not watch TV/Movies or listen to music but don't mind sharing my views on them.

"It is not allowed to take pictures of beings that have souls, a rule the compasses cameras and other instruments, with the exception of pictures that are necessary, such as a passport or identity photo."

- from fatawa islamiyah...and as far as music, from the same trusted source;

"It is not allowed to listen to singing and playing musical instruments, since it diverts the listener from the remembrance of Allaah and from prayer, and because hearing it sickens and hardens the heart. Both the Clear Book of Allaah and the Trustworthy Sunnah His Messenger (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) prove its prohibition. Allaah Almighty says in Surah Luqman ayah 6:

"And of Mankind is he who purchases (Lawd Al-Hadith) idle talk to mislead from the Path of Allaah without knowledge."

The majority of scholars of Tafsir as well as others have explained that Lawd Al- Hadith refers to singing and musical instruments. In his Sahih, Al- Bukhari recorded that the Prophet (SalAllaahu alaihe wa sallam) said: "There will be from my Nation a people who will deem fornication, silk (for men), alcohol, and music to be permissible". [Al-Bukhari no. 5590] We ask Allaah to guide and facilitate all of the Muslims to what is right and to protect us from the causes which anger Him." Aameen.

-Proof taken from Fatawa Islamiyah- Ibn Baz

[My Words].."Some may still argue the fact of "naats" or "nasheeds" to be acceptable, or why can't they be if they speak of nothing but good of the religion, which sounds good but we have to worship Allaah as He has legislated for us to, not to add on or take away even if the adding on appears to be an elevation of worship which is actually an innovation and for every innovation is a going astray and the end result of going astray leads to the hellfire, so just because something sounds good to do regarding the deen doesn't mean that it is good without proving it to be a way that Allaah has legislated for us to worship Him, with AUTHENTIC proofs (Quran and Sunnah) and all of that being borderline and finding loopholes(you think you found) only leaves doubt in your heart and doubt comes from the shaitan who is the greatest enemy to mankind and he sits and waits at every point of our lives for the opportunity to lead us astray. HE IS YOUR ENEMY! Don't help your enemy defeat you by following him! So please be careful of what you do here in this life while passing through to our final abode because in the end all the songs you know, sport stats, movie titles and producers and nonsense; any of these worldly waste of times are not going to save you from the fire because at that time, you are only left with your deeds. So be VERY careful what you do here InshaAllaah.None of us are an exception to falling into these things, May Allaah protect us from falling into these things or anything that displeases Him And May Allaah place and/or keep us on a path that will lead us to Jennah, Aameen."

Allaah, The Exalted, states:

"And I (Allaah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)." (Noble Quran 51:56)

All of that being said, I plan on worshipping Allaah Alone and learning this Deen for the rest of my time passing through this dunya and my advice to you is to help and strive with me InshaAllaah.

May Allaah bless us all with beneficial knowledge, Aameen.

New Shahadah notes (final)

As Salaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullaah
Proceeding with the class notes.
Our brother informs us:
* Shirk is creation worship (to make other than Allaah equal to Allaah in something that Allaah has specific rights over) and contradicts the purpose of life (to single out Allaah alone in all worship)
Islam is the only religion that believes in singling out Allaah alone in all worship. We give the creator his right of worshipping Him alone without ascribing any partner to Him.

(we were given the 4 categories of shirk)
4 Categories of Shirk:
1) Shirk Al Akbar (Major Shirk)
- To worship other than Allaah
2) Shirk Al Asghar (Minor Shirk)
3) Shirk Al Jalee (Apparent Shirk)
4) Shirk Al Khaff (Hidden Shirk)
Shirk Al Akbar
* expels a person outside the fold of Islam into Kuffir
* not forgiven by Allaah
* will cause a person to reside in the five hells forever
Shirk Al Asghar
* shirk that hasn’t reached the level of major shirk.
* the essence of the action is not done for Allaah but a portion of it is done for other than the sake of Allaah.
Shirk Al Jalee
* shirk done openly
Shirk Al Khafee
* hidden shirk
We separate ourselves from shirk and it’s people. We do not have love for them rather we have love for Tawheed and it’s people.
To be knowledgeable and merciful to the creation is a characteristic of the Muslim and the most merciful thing we can do for the people of shirk is to introduce the purpose of life and have patience with it. (Thus giving dawah)
We grant them peace as we want to be granted peace to worship Allaah.
We weigh everything against our love for Allaah, being careful not to love anything over Him.
We should base our love and hate on what Allaah loves and hates, for the pleasure of Allaah.
(end of class)

These are the final class notes, the class was discontinued but was of great benefit to me, the ones who attended and the ones who were informed of the contents of the class, Allaahu Alim.
Please post any comments so we may benefit InshaAllaah.
Please forgive me if I made any mistakes in any of these post. Those mistakes come from myself or the shaitan.
Thanks for listening!
BarakAllaahu feekum and As salaamu alaikum (smiles)

As Salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaah
Proceeding with the class notes, we were asked to give definition and evidence for Tawheed Ar Ruboobiyyah and we (the class) came up with the following:
Tawheed Ar Ruboobiyyah-[Oneness of the Lordship of Allaah] The belief that He (meaning Allaah) alone is the Creator, The Provider, The One who gives life and causes death, and The Disposer of all affairs.
To single out Allaah, The Exalted, alone in His Actions.
OR as defined in “The Concise Collection of Creed and Tauhid” By Darussalam Publishers:
Tauhid Ar Rububiyah- To believe that there is only one Lord for all the universe and He is its Creator, Organizer, Planner, Sustainer, Owner and the Controller of its Affairs, and that is Allaah.
Our brother gave us the evidence for Tawheed Ar Ruboobiyyah , which is Surah 2:21,22 where Allaah states:
“O mankind, worship your Lord who created you and those before you so that you may be of the pious. The one who made the earth a bed for you and sky as a canopy, and has caused rain to descend from the sky, and has caused fruits to develop out of it as provision for you. So do not set up partners with Allaah while you have knowledge (of what you do).”
He said In Surah 2:21, the word “worship” is Ar Ruboobiyyah and “your Lord” is Al Uluhiyyah.
He added that this is Allaah informing us that He did all of this for us, so worship him.
The point of Ar Ruboobiyyah in return of all of the things that Allaah does for us, it is only logical for us to single Him out alone for worship. Ruboobiyyah leads you directly to Uluhiyyah.
In order to be Muslim, you have to worship Allaah.
Tawheed Al Uluhiyyah- [Oneness of the Worship of Allaah] To believe that none has the right to be worshipped (e.g. praying, invoking, asking for help from the unseen, swearing, slaughtering sacrifices, giving charity, fasting, pilgrimage, etc.) but Allaah.
Our brother said it is the reason for argumentation and fighting in ancient and recent times. It is singling out Allaah alone in the actions of the servant such as: supplication, taking vows, sacrifice, dependence on Allaah, hope, fear, repentance; etc.
Defined in “The Concise Collection of Creed and Tauhid” By Darussalam Publishers:
Tawheed Al Asma was Sifaat- [Oneness of the Names and Attributes of Allaah]
(i)                  We must not name or attribute to Allaah except what He or His Messenger has named Him or attributed to Him.
(ii)                None can be named with the Names of Allaah or described with attributes that belong to Allaah; e.g. Al-Kareem, Ar-Rahman, etc.
(iii)               We must believe in all the Attributes of Allaah that are mentioned in His book (The Qur’an) or mentioned by His Messenger (Muhammad salallahu alaihe wa sallam) without changing their meaning or denying them completely or twisting their meanings or likening them (giving resemblance) to any of the created things.
He said the exact names and amount of Allaahs Names and Attributes are unknown. We know of 99 that are mentioned.
The more you know and understand
Allaahs Names and Attributes, the more you understand your Lord. The more you understand your Lord, the better you can worship Him.
Allaah has beautiful names and attributes, so call on him by them.
We should call on Allaah ta ala by His Names and Attributes in accordance to what we are asking for.
He then gave us 6 points (that I counted in my notes) on Tawheed Al Asma was Sifaat:
·        We believe in the word and the meaning.
·        Any Name or Attribute of Allaah that He has affirmed for Himself in His Book or upon The Tongue of His Messenger, we also affirm.
·        Any Name or Attribute of Allaah that He has negated for Himself in His Book or upon The Tongue of His Messenger, we also negate.
·        Any Name or Attribute of Allaah that He has remained silent about in His Book or upon The tongue of His Messenger, we also remain silent about.
·        We believe in His Names and Attributes without Ta’weel (distorting the true meaning) or Ta’teel (negating them) or Tashbeeh (resembling Allaah to the creation or vice versa) or Takyeef (asking why or how)
·        Inside every name of Allaah is an attribute, but not necessarily in every attribute is there a name.
We may be resembled to Allaah in wording, but not in meaning
He then went into the definition of Shirk:
Shirk- To make other than Allaah equal to Allaah in an affair that is specific to Allaah.
Our homework was: What are the four categories of Shirk?

Please post any comments so that we may benefit Insha Allaah
Please forgive me if I made any mistakes in any of these posts. Those mistakes come from myself or the shaitan.
Barakallahu feekum and As Salaamu alaikum (smiles)

The last time we were asked to Find in a hadeeth the explanation of what happens in the grave.
The class submitted hadeeth # 422 Vol. 2 of Sahih Al Bukhari Narrated by Anas (Radiallaahu anhu): The Prophet (Sallaahu alaihe wa sallam) said, “When a human being is laid in his grave and his companions return and he even hears his footsteps, two angels come to him and make him sit up and as him: What did you use to say about this man Muhammad (Sallaahu alaihe wa sallam) ? He will say: I testify that he is Allaah’s slave and His Messenger. Then it will be said to him, Look at your place in the hellfire. Allaah has changed for you a place in Paradise instead of it! The Prophet (Sallaahu alaihe wa sallam) added, The dead person will see both places. But the disbeliever or hypocrite will say to the Angels: ‘ I do not know , but I use to say what the people used to say.’ It will be said to him, ‘ Neither did you know nor did you take the guidance (by following the Quran).’ Then he will be hit with an iron hammer between the two ears, and he will cry and that cry will be heard by what-so-ever near to him except human being and jinn being.
We also found in the footnotes of The Noble Quran (referring to Surah 14 Ayah 27):
“..immediately after their death (in their graves), when the Angels (Munkar and Nakir) will ask them 3 questions: As to: (1) Who is your Lord? (2) What is your Religion? (3) What do you say about this man (Prophet Muhammad Sallaahu alaihe wa sallam) who was sent to you? The believers will give the correct answers, (1) My Lord is Allaah (2) My religion is Islam (3) This man Muhammaad Sallaahu alaihe wa sallam is Allaah’s Messenger, and he came to us with clear signs and we believed in him, while the wrong-doers who believed not in Muhammad’s Message will not be able to answer these questions. (Also found in Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
Our brother added:
Your hearing is the last thing that goes when you die. The proof is you will hear the footsteps walking away from your grave.
(also refer to the Khutbah “Questions of the Grave” in the Beneficial Ilm section of my page for detail explanation)
He reminded us of the purpose of life which is explained in Quran (51:56) where Allaah states:
“And I have not created the jinn and mankind except for My worship alone”.
And gave us the definition for Tawheed- To single out Allaah alone in all worship.
We were asked to define worship (Ibadah). The class gave various answers and our brother gave us Ibn Taymiyyah’s (Rahimhu Allaah) defintion {who died in the year 728AH}:
Worship- It is a comprehensive term that is inclusive of everything that Allaah loves and is pleased with of statements and actions whether they are apparent or hidden.
Our brother explains:
- Anything you say or do that Allaah loves is worship.
- We know what Allaah love through revelations Allaah sent us.
- Dhkir, Salat, speaking knowledge etc. are apparent.
- statements and actions of the heart are hidden.
- having hope in Allaah’s mercy, having love for Allaah, True dependence upon Allaah and to fear His punishments are actions of the heart.
- Your statements of your heart are intentions (An Niyyah)
If Allaah does not love it or pleased with it, it is not considered worship to Allaah. Anyone who worships Allaah without proper knowledge is upon ignorance and misguidance.
We were given the three categories of Tawheed:
1. Tawheed Ar- Ruboobiyyah (Tawheed of Allaah’s Lordship)
2. Tawheed Al- Uloohiyyah (Tawheed of Allaah’s Worship)
3. Tawheed Al Asma was Sifaat (Allaah’s Names and Attributes)
Our homework was to give definition and evidence for Tawheed Ar Ruboobiyyah.
Please add or post any comments so that we may benefit Insha Allaah
Please forgive me if I made any mistakes in any of these posts. Those mistakes come from myself or the shaitan.
